Comic Pirates in Batavia – The Chronicles of Adventure Club of Europe
The founding history of the Adventure Club of Europe
When the pursuit of knowledge meets greed for wealth, fate can take an unexpected turn. The Chronicles of the Adventure Club of Europe recount the little-known story of the club's founder, Bartholomew van Robbemond - a notorious pirate who abandoned a life of plunder to become one of the greatest explorers in history.
At the beginning of the 18th century, Van Robbemond and his legendary ship, the Hollandia, dominated the Indian seas and posed a constant threat to the Dutch East India Company, the VOC. Accompanied by his loyal companion Jopie and notorious allies Captains Sansom Mbeke, Louie ‘Eleven Fingers’ and Princess Li Fu, no treasure escaped them. However, his most dangerous mission still lies ahead: the hunt for the Fire Tiger, a mystical Batavian dagger said to make its bearer invincible.
This brand new 48-page comic reveals the origins of the legendary Adventure Club of Europe and tells the story of the attraction 'Pirates in Batavia'.
