For centuries, the Adventure Club of Europe (ACE) has been dedicated to discovering and protecting mystical and supernatural artefacts. But when the privateer and founder of the ACE, Bartholomeus v. Robbemond, was looking for the magic dagger, the Fire Tiger, in Batavia in 1714, he made another extraordinary discovery:
Deep in the jungle of Java, he discovered a lost wooden barrel floating in a dinghy, inside of which was a uniquely aged rum. The constant movement of the boat and the damp temperatures gave the rum a much milder and finer taste. Van Robbemond then enthusiastically distilled his own rum, leaving it in barrels on boats in the jungle until the contents had reached the perfect degree of maturity. To this day and based on Robbemond's secret recipe, this rum is still produced by the ACE. Aged to perfection in ex-Tawny port wine barrels in the attraction Pirates in Batavia for over 1000 hours and almost 10.000 km on a moving dinghy. Due to the constant movement of the boat in the water, the oxygen in the barrel mixes with the rum, accelerating the ageing process and releasing the aromas of the wood. The result is a very complex and soft rum with impressive, distinctive aromas of pineapple and papaya. The initial impression creates the feeling of an unsweetened Rhum Agricole, which surprisingly changes during the long finish to impressions of Asian spices such as nutmeg and clove, as well as a light smoke characteristic. In addition, there are light, sweet notes of port wine with plums, tobacco and vanilla.
